Video and Film: Trained at the BBC, London, and with a background in independent filmmaking, Louise Temple came to the U.S. in 1980 to open the groundbreaking movie, “Anti-Clock”, which she associate produced and then promoted at the London, Cannes and Trieste Film Festivals. She went on to co-create the TNT documentary “American Dreamers”, the American Movie Classics documentary, “Homeward Bound”, among other TV documentary specials and industrial and educational shorts. Her most recent credit as a documentary writer is for ten DVDs on integrative medicine, a collaboration between the Mayo Clinic and Gaiam Corporation. As an Editor and Writer: Louise’s most recent credits include, “Hebrew Illuminations” which she edited and co-authored with the artist Adam Rhine (SoundsTrue Publications), “The Power of a Positive No” by William Ury, the author of “Getting to Yes” (Bantam Books), and “Timeless Resonance: A Poetic Adventure to Higher Consciousness” by Jana Klenburg (Lone Pine Press). She has served as an associate editor of“Free Spirit” newspaper, and as the editor of the late and illustrious Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach’s magazine, “Connections”. She has authored articles on hunger and homelessness, and wrote the global booklet for the Women’s Summit Conference in Beijing, for the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM). She writes web content, brochures and image pieces. As a Consultant and Teacher of Creative Writing: Louise has taught at The New York Open Center, the 92nd Street Y, The Learning Annex, Hofstra University and The International Women’s Writing Guild at Skidmore College, among many other venues. Her students and clients range from inner-city kids, to published writers, to the homebound and elderly, to teachers and professionals. Louise Temple is the founder and director of LOOK UP! WRITING SERVICES, LLC offering a full spectrum of writing services from the creative fine editing of fiction and non-fiction works, to the writing of ad copy, mission statements, personal/business letters, brochures and documentary treatments. In addition, creative writing workshops, lectures and one-on-one consulting are available to both professional writers and budding wordsmiths. A writer and seeker for most of her life, Louise's path took her far from her London home to explore spiritual paths in many different countries, and to ultimately discover that “there are as many paths to God as there are breaths in a human being.” She brings the fruits of her search to her writing and teaching, and to her love for helping others find and express what they most deeply want to communicate.
